Michelle McGregor-Smith has extensive experience in global sustainability and enterprise risk, with a career spanning key business sectors such as Energy, Oil & Gas, Specialty Chemical, Heavy Manufacturing, and Sustainable Development. Currently, she is the VP of Sustainability and Business Development for BOSS Controls, Inc., a company specializing in advanced energy and sustainability technology solutions. These AI enabled solutions enable older building assets to significantly lower their energy usage and GHG emissions, meet net-zero compliance requirements, and seamlessly connect the entire building to the wholesale energy market for direct revenue generation and Smart City Grids.
Michelle has successfully led business development and management teams that have collaborated with multinational companies worldwide. She has conducted ESG and sustainability risk assessments, collected data, and implemented solutions to meet global reporting requirements. Her responsibilities include comprehensive global risk reduction and capital expenditure plans for diverse portfolios, including manufacturing plants, distribution centers, commercial offices, and transportation fleets aimed at decarbonization and energy reductions.
In addition to her corporate role, Michelle has served on the boards of several key environmental, health, and safety organizations, such as the Nature Conservancy, Responsible Care, International Compressor Applications and Machinery Committee (HSSE Committee), and The Pennsylvania Environmental Council. She has authored over 50 articles focusing on cost-effective sustainability, energy efficiency, and smart city technologies for retrofitting existing buildings and manufacturing assets.
